The Washington Radskins’ worst nightmare came to life on Sunday at Fed-Ex Field where the Atlanta Falcons knocked rookie QB Robert Griffin III out of the game, changing the momentum of the game and motivating the Falcons to a 24 – 17 come-from-behind victory over the home team, which has now lost eight straight ganmes in their own stadium, which is completely sold out week after week.

Despite the awesome 6th man, the Washington Football Team just can’t get it done in Washington. Griffin, the prized top pick, took a vicious shot to the head during a third quarter attempt to run the football when Atlanta LB Sean Weatherspoon laid an extremely hard, but totally legal shot on the rookie, leaving him sprawled on the field with a concussion. Griffin was able to get up and walk off the field and out of the stadium, but there’s no word on when he might return to action. He apparently failed the preliminary testing in regards to a concussion, and will be re-evaluated as the week progresses, but already Griffin says he feels better.

Griffin may have brought unnecessary pressure to himself by failing to get down quickly on his runs, and he publicly vented about his distaste for being hit after a loss to the Rams a few weeks back. That kind of thing can make you a marked man in the NFL, and so it seems it has. Kirk Cousins, another rookie, stepped in for Griffin and threw a TD pass, as well as two comeback-crushing interceptions in the 4th quarter. The Washington Football Team are now in the cellar of the NFC East. Hey, where’s “Sexy Rexy”? Rex Grossman.
