Character actor Clifton Powell is in a new drama and it isn’t on the big screen. Powell is being sued for allegedly raping a woman in Louisiana back in the summer of 2011.
According to court documents, Kiyante Myers alleges she was raped by the Next Friday star. Myers admitted she consented to sex with Powell at first. However, she became uncomfortable when the sex got a little too rough for her liking. Kiyante Myers claims when she asked Powell to stop with the rough play, he ignored her request, placed his hands over her face and mouth, and proceeded to rape her.

The alleged altercation took place in a Louisiana hotel room in August of 2011 and was investigated by local police officials. When law enforcement investigated Myers’ claims, they found there was no real evidence to prove Clifton Powell took part in any of the accusations being hurled at him and closed the case.
Myers is taking her case to Louisiana federal court. She is seeking a little more than $75,000 in damages.
A rep for Clifton Powell released a statement, saying, “Mr. Powell absolutely denies these false accusations and plans on pursuing all legal remedies available to him against his accuser.”
