The Democratic National Convention rolls on in Charlotte, North Carolina this evening with a highly anticipated speech from former President Bill Clinton, who still remains one of America’s favorite politicians. Clinton will follow a rousing opening night in which First Lady Michelle Obama knocked her speech completely out of the ball park and closing out the first night with a bang.

Before Mrs. Obama hit the stage, the enthusiastic audience got a stirring speech from Massachutsetts Governor Duval Patrick, who set the stage on fire at the Time-Warner Arena. Patrick challenged Democrats to gain some “backbone” and urged them not to allow Republicans to bully the President out of office. Patrick was followed by former Ohio Governor Ted Strickland, who went directly at GOP candidate Mitt Romney, and San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro, who is a rising star in the party.
