The Republican National Convention offered an array of ‘strange’ speeches on Tuesday evening in Tampa, none moreso that that of keynote speaker, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, who spoke for nearly 16 minutes about himself before he even mentioned the GOP nominee Mitt Romney. Once he did, he went back into his personal bio and beliefs, hardly helping to sell the image of the candidate, which was supposed to be the whole point of this convention.

Ann Romney, the wife of the nominee, delivered a heartfelt speech in showering her husband with love and stories of what a great marraige and family they have, but did little too convince any undecided voter that Mitt Romney should be the next President. Virginia Governor Bob McDonell aslo spoke on Tuesday, he too barely talked about anything of substance as to who Mitt Romney is and where he plans to take the country.

Tonight, it’s Paul Ryan’s turn to address the convention. The Vice Presidential nominee is a lightning rod in this election with his controversial budget plans and stances on abortion and women’s health issues. Ryan is most notably charged by the Obama campaign as the architect of the plan to dismantle Medicare. The Presidential nominee, Romney, will speak on Thursday night.
