When reports surfaced Drake would be working on a posthumous Aaliyah album, some thought it would be a great idea while others didn’t agree. One of the people who think the Aaliyah/Drake project would great is Aaliyah’s former boyfriend Dame Dash.

Dame recently spoke to The Juice and was asked about his opinion on Drake’s song “Enough Said,” which features vocals from Aaliyah. Dash said he hadn’t heard the record and has no plans of being involved in the creative process as of yet. Dame stated, “Anytime I can hear her voice, that’s a good thing. And anyone that respected her enough to make a record with her, I appreciate ya’ll. I haven’t heard the record, but I appreciate the art of it. I love hearing her voice. I hope it’s something that I haven’t heard before.”

Since the announcement came that the “Are You That Somebody?” singer would have a posthumous project, her old producers Timbaland and Missy Elliott criticized the proposed album because they weren’t contacted to work on the album. Dame Dash says he wasn’t contacted to be apart of the album, but would love to contribute if it made sense.
“I don’t know what I could bring to the table there, but yeah I would do it. Anything involving Aaliyah and it’s positive and the energy [is] right with it, I would be a part of it. My love for Aaliyah will never change.”

Do you think Dame Dash should participate in the making of Aaliyah’s posthumous album?
