Police in Tampa, Florida say the body of Tennessee Titans wide receiver O. J. Murdock with what they describe as an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Murdock was found in his car parked in front of his former high school, Middleton HS, where he starred in football before moving on to South Carolina for a short stay and on to the NFL.
Murdock failed to report to the Titans training camp over the weekend, citing “personal issues” he was dealing with. He spent last season on injured reeserve with an Achillies tear, but left no indication there was anything which would lead to such a tragic end to his life.
