KISS – FM salutes our favorite celebrities who happen to be celebrating birthdays this week, April 30th thru May 6th. On Monday, April 30th, we said Happy Birthday to former NBA All-Star player & coach, Isiah Thomas, who turned 51 years old, while county music legend Willie Nelson is 79, and NASCAR Driver Michael Waltrip celebrated his 49th.
On Tuesday, May 1st, R & B singer and musician Ray Parker, Jr was 57, and on Wednesday, May 2nd, we could all smell what The Rock was cooking up for his 39th birthday. That’s Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who went from the WWF to movie stardom. Soccer superstar David Beckham also turned 36 on Tuesday.
Thursday, May 3rd marked the birthdays of two legends who have left us, but will never be forgotten. Former six-time world champion boxer Sugar Ray Robinson and the “Godfather of Soul, James Brown.
Country music star Randy Travis turned 52 on Friday, May 4th. On Saturday, May 5th, he’s not related to James Brown, but you would think so because he is indeed “Mr. Excitement”……Tappahanoock, VA native, and R & B singer Chris Brown celebrates his 22nd birthday! Happy Birthday Chris from your Radio-One family. Also on Saturday, British pop star Adele turns 23, and NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams will be 52.
Rounding out the week on Sunday, May 6th, actor George Clooney celebrates the big 5-0, baseball legend Willie Mays will be 80 years old, and British Prime Minister Tony Blair turns 58 years old.
