As a native of Petersburg, a product of it’s public school and library system, I’m proud to be one of the spokespersons selected to help support this much-needed and long-overdue effort to construct the new State-of-the-Art Petersburg Public Library. This facility would not only serve to benefit the city of Petersburg, but the entire Tri-Cities area and its surrounding counties because of the increased space and many features the new PPL would offer. So I’m asking my fellow graduates, alumni, friends and neighbors all around the 804, and my huge Quiet Storm listening audience around Central Virginia, to go to http://www.PetersburgLibraryFoundation.org and get more details on how this project can benefit the entire region. Take the Library’s virtual tour, once you do, you should be encouraged and convinced to make a contribution to tomorrow TODAY. With the Public Library becoming more and more valuable to citizens in this computer driven society, the traffic volume has greatly increased and the city has clearly outgrown the old facility.
