The VCU Rams continue to find their groove after a slow start to the 2011 season, picking up yet another home win over Alabama-Birmingham on Tuesday night at Siegel Center to improve their record to 8-3.  VCU has now won five straight.  Meanwhile, Richmond is now 7-5 after defeating the Monarchs of Old Dominion at the Robins Center on Tuesday in OT.   UVA’s Cavaliers returning from the west coast after big road wins at Oregon on Saturday, and the Wahoos defeated the University of Seattle 83-77 on Wednesday.  Virginia is off to an impressive 10-1 start this season. The Hokies of Virginia Tech are now 10-3 and have won four straight, including Thursday night’s 71-50 victory over Eastern Michigan in Blacksburg.  In the CIAA, Virginia Union’s Panthers and the Trojans of Virginia State are off for the Christmas holiday.  Both return to action next Friday night,
