For Virginia Tech, the Clemson Tigers were a thorn in the side of this 2011 season, spoiling the Hokies undefeated run midway through the year, and the crushing 38-10 defeat in the ACC Championship Game. The two huge losses kept the Hokies from being a serious BCS title contender, but Tech is still headed to a major BCS bowl game and a big payday in the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans on January 3rd against the Michigan Wolverines. The BCS also showing respect to ACC Coach of the Year Mike London and his Virginia Cavaliers, who expected a bowl game, but at BCS game? The Wahoos will also have some Tigers to tame with SEC power Auburn on New Year’s Eve in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl in Atlanta. This is the first time ever that two ACC schools have been “invited” to play in BCS games. That’s mad respect folks. Seven, count ’em, seven ACC teams “Bowlin” in 2011……
