In Holiday Hoops, the VCU Rams, now 10-3 and winners of seven straight after a 76-75 OT victory Thursday at Akron, are done for 2011.  VCU returns to action Tuesday in New York at Hofstra.  The Spiders of UR moved to 9-6 with their 78-58 blowout of UNC-Greensboro Friday night at the Robins Center.  UVA is now 12-1 coming off Friday’s 57-50 victory over Towson at JPJ Arena.  The Cavaliers have now won ten straight, and begin 2012 tonight at LSU.  The Hokies of Va. Tech fell to 11-3 after a 67-61 road win at Oklahoma State.  In the CIAA, Virginia State falls twice in the West Florida Classic over the weekend and end the year with just one win.  Virginia Union’s Panthers also went back to work at home Friday night vs the University of South Carolina-Aiken.  Panthers roll 75-69.  The Spartans of Norfolk State grab an impressive 71-65 win at Navy on Sunday to move to 10-5.
