GOP’s Herman Cain was in Richmond on Saturday. Cain was guest speaker at the Family Foundation’s 2011 Gala at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. Cain speaking before a crowd of 1,000 people said “if he wins the GOP nomination, he will get the black vote”. Cain said not because he is black but because of the economy and his 999 structured tax code plan.
Cain according to the recent Washington Post-ABC News Poll is tied with (R) Texas Governor Rick Perry in second place as a favorite for Republican voters. Former Mass. Governor Mitt Romney leads the field of GOP contenders at 25%.
Cain is a former chief executive of Godfather’s pizza, a Navy veteran, cancer survivor and now Republican Presidential candidate. Cain says his “999 reform tax plan” will reinvigorate our nation’s economy tax and replace the “21-st Century version of slavery” tax code. His tax code would include a 9% corporate tax, a 9% personal income tax and a 9% nation sales tax.
Virginia will hold its GOP presidential primary on March 6, 2012.
