President Obama will unveil his jobs plan before a joint session of Congress one day before his arrival in Richmond, Virginia. This statement is confirmed by a White House official speaking on condition of anonymity ahead of a public announcement.

If the public gets behind the plan, he could benefit. However, Obama will face an uphill battle with congressional Republicans to sign off on his proposals. The $300 billion proposals are expected to include a mix of tax credits and spending on infrastructure.

The National Jobs report show that employment was down for the month of August. Could President Obama sell his jobs plan to Virginians?

President Obama’s visit is free and open to the public at the Robbins Center on Friday at 11:30 a. m.  Tickets are required to hear his speech and will be available 3 pm. to 6 p.m. on Thursday. Tickets will be distributed on a first come, first served basis at the University of Richmond, Modlin Center 28 Westhampton Way
