Crater Health District is advising residents on private wells that may be impacted by flooding or loss power to boil water from your well or use bottled water for consumption. If your well has been flooded (flood water has overtopped well), then Crater Health District recommends that you disinfect your well before you return to normal use. Until that time, as a precaution, it is recommended that you boil water at least one minute before drinking or use bottled water for consumption.

For additional information call the Crater Health District at (804) 863-1652 between the hours of 8:15 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. or visit the Virginia Department of Health website at http://www.vdh.virginia.gov/EnvironmentalHealth/Onsite/.
