The San Francisco 49ers say they want no part of a rivalry game with the Oakland Raiders next season following the violence that occurred during and after their preseason game on Saturday in San Francisco.  Despite beefed-up security and a crowd much smaller than a normal regular season game, violence broke out inside and outside the stadium, during and after the game.  70 people ejected from the stadium, 12 people arrested, over 90 calls for emergency medical services during the game, and that was all inside the stadium.  Outside, two people were shot in the parking lot.  The San Francisco-Oakland rivalry has always been contentious between fans, but never has it escalated to such a fever pitch.  NFL officials may consider cancelling next year’s preseason matchup.
