Embattled R&B star Chris Brown has lashed out at the media for “falsifying stories” about him after he was accused of using a gay slur during a recent game of basketball.

Brown, who is rebuilding his image following a 2009 assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna, is alleged to have lost his temper while playing ball at a Los Angeles gym and hurled a string of derogatory remarks at another player.

According to Star magazine, Brown became “verbally aggressive” and berated his rival for making a “gay” move, before insulting him using an array of homophobic slurs.

A source tells the tabloid, “He got really ticked off when things didn’t go his way during the game.”

But Chris Brown has responded to the reports and said they’re exaggerrated. He is urging his fans not to listen to all the bad press.

In a series of posts on Twitter.com on Wednesday (July 13), he writes, “Believing everything the media says only makes us stupid as a society. I get it now, the media doesn’t make enough money stalking and falsifying stories on other celebs so they continuously f*ck wit me. Its all good… Everyone else have blessed day!”
