The Appomatox River Water Authority has requested voluntary water restrictions for the City of Petersburg. The call by the water authority is due to the declining water level in Lake Chesdin.
Lake Chesdin is the water supplier for the City of Petersburg, Colonial Heights and counties of Chesterfield, Dinwiddie and Prince George.
Also, voluntary water restrictions are in effect for the City of Richmond. Water levels are low on the James River, the water supplier for the city.
