While we’re all celebrating VCU’s rise onto the national stage with their appearance in this weekend’s Final Four, I saw this as a teachable moment for some misinformed fans. Surely, this is HUGE for Richmond, and should the Rams prevail and win the NCAA Championship, it would be the city’s fourth, yes, fourth national hoops title. Va. Union University, led by Coach Dave Robbins, won three national championships, with much less fanfare I might add. So the city of Richmond has always had a basketball pedigree. Just keepin’ it real! Go VCU!
