The former soul and disco artist, Loleatta Holloway, known for her 80’s track “Love Sensation”, has passed away . Her manager states that she died Monday evening after experiencing an illness. With her solo career begining in 1970, Holloway is also known for her singles “Hit & Run” and “Runaway”. Her most famous single “Love Sensation” reach the number one spot on the Billboards Hot 100 chart as well as Marky Marks & the Funky Bunch’s “Good Vibrations” on which she is featured.
Funeral arragements are pending but the family has planned a public memorial service on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Rainbow Push Coalition, 930 E 50TH St, Chicago, IL 60615. Viewing will take place from 1pm to 6pm and the memorial will be from 6pm to 10 pm.
