Keith Olbermann, host of MSNBC’s “Countdown”, has abruptly announced he is leaving the show, effective immediately. Olbermann has had an ongoing feud with the network, and both have decided it best to part ways. Olbermann had just signed a $30 million contract in 2008 and had one of the network’s most watched programs. “The Last Word” with Lawrence O’Donell will replace Olbermann’s show in that time slot. Olbermann landed at MSNBC from ESPN where he was a former SportsCenter anchor and is credited with helping to launch ESPN2 and ESPN Radio.
