The Green Bay Packers receiver won the ABC dance show Tuesday after wowing audiences and judges with his kickin’ country-themed freestyle routine. He and partner Peta Murgatroyd hoisted the trophy above their heads after being named the new “Dancing” champs, reports AP.

Immediately after the “winning” announcement, Driver’s wife and children joined him on the dance floor.

With just one point separating the three finalists, it was up to the viewers to pick the winner.

Driver and his fellow finalists, Welsh singer Katherine Jenkins and Cuban actor William Levy, each earned perfect scores for their last performances Tuesday. Jenkins came into the final contest with a perfect 60 points; Driver and Levy each had 59.

Judges’ scores combined with viewer votes determined the result.

Contestants eliminated throughout the show’s 10-week season, including actor Jaleel White, comedianne Sherri Shepherd and singer Gladys Knight reunited for the two-hour finale and one last dance.

Knight also sang “The Way We Were.”

The next season of “Dancing With the Stars” will feature contestants from past seasons.

According to TMZ, Owens allegedly owes over $1 million on the property, and now, the bank wants to foreclose.

Deutsche National Bank sued him in April, claiming he still owes $1.47 million on the property and hasn’t made a payment in 6 months.

According to mortgage documents attached to the lawsuit, Owens originally took out a loan worth $1.55 million in 2006, and had faithfully been making monthly payments of $5,126 until last November.

Owens has responded to the lawsuit, claiming the bank “lacks standing” to foreclose on the property.

With all the draft hoopla complete, the NFL teams now begin implementing their plans for the 2012 season and signing draft picks & free agents.  The first player taken from a state school was Virginia Tech RB David Wilson, who has signed with the New York Giants and will go to camp seeking to replace the departed Brandon Jacobs, who landed in San Francisco.

Speaking of the 49ers, QB Alex Smith says he likes what he sees of veteran WR Randy Moss so far, even saying he sees no “rust” in Moss’ game.   In Buffalo, the Bills have signed QB Vince Young, who flopped as a back-up in Philly, but signed a one year, $2 million deal to carry the clipboard for starting QB Ryan Fitzpatrick.   Buffalo had a decent draft, and added some needed free agents, so maybe the Bills won’t be pushovers in 2012.

In Washington, the Redskins now have only 15 players left on their roster who were there when current head coach Mike Shanahan arrived and according to the coach’s view, at least eight of them may not be around when the 2012 season starts.  Among notable names still on the Redskins roster are Santana Moss, D’Angelo Hall, Chris Cooley, and London Fletcher to name a few.   The Skins also re-signed ex-University of Richmond star RB Tim Hightower who had other options but chose to remain in Washington.

The New York Jets have certainly put the spotlight on their franchise with the signing of Tim Tebow, but apparently WR Plaxico Burress isn’t impressed as he is seeking employment elsewhere.   Burress, a free agent, is looking at the Raiders, the Dolphins, and the Carolina Panthers.  Cam Newton could really use a tall, savvy, veteran wide receiver like Plax. I expect Burress to land in Charlotte.

As previously reported, the couple went to court Monday to address an April 24 altercation. The former NFL star famously tweeted a photo of himself and his kids filling out police reports last month, after Pilar allegedly attacked him in front of their children. Pilar then filed her own police report, and they both later asked the court for a restraining order.

Deion’s restraining order was the only one granted, according to the Associated Press. The judge ruled that Pilar’s injuries were the result of Deion having acted in self-defense. Pilar has been ordered to stay 500 feet away from their Dallas home.

This afternoon, Pilar released a statement addressing her side of the situation:

Deion “Primetime” Sanders used the media, visiting national TV, posting on his various social media sites and telling reporters outside of court to “report it like you would the Super Bowl” to defy the court and dishonor a gag order to trash Pilar Sanders, his wife of 13 years. Pilar sat quietly by the “sidelines” during this terrible gameplay in hopes of keeping her personal life private during this sad time. “I’ve been silent since September. Once Deion’s secret life was revealed and he laid all of his cards on the table, I just wanted a civil divorce for the sake of my children. This didn’t have to go down like this,” explains Pilar. “I obeyed the court, tried to protect my kids from hearing all of the trash talk, but still their father approached it like another ball game.”

For the record, Deion’s attorney has a conflict of interest, while representing Deion he also represents the town of Prosper, The Prosper Police Department, and the Prosper Independent School District. That speaks for itself.

Petersburg High School will dedicate their new weight room and training facility for future Crimson Wave athletes in the name of current NFL star and Petersburg native Kendall Langford of the St. Louis Rams.   Langford starred for the Crimson Wave before going to Hampton University and becoming a defensive terror in the MEAC Conference.

Kendall was drafted by the Miami Dolphins after his senior year at defensive end for the Pirates, and recently signed a new 4-year free agent contract with St. Louis.   Langford was a great student as well as athletically gifted and has continued to lend his support and encouragement to the kids who follow in his footprints with the Crimson Wave.

The dedication ceremony will be held tonight in the Lawson Gymnasium on the PHS campus at 6pm.  Certainly his success is a source of pride to sports fans all around the Tr–Cities and particularly in Petersburg, VA.  For more details go to Petersburgathletics.com.

Dr. Phil started the program going pretty easy, by talking with Owens about his own absentee father. However, when the first mother came out and said that Owens had only seen her child a total of 12 times in her life, things got a lot more interesting.

“He doesn’t call, he doesn’t send Christmas gifts,” the woman identified as “Kimber” said.

“The thing is, with me traveling back and forth, I don’t have a set schedule,” Owens said. He continued, “Pretty much 90% of the time every time I’ve reached out [to these women], it’s been a bad time.”

The mother of Owens’ oldest child, Monique, took her turn to explain how she went years without taking Owens to court for child support, choosing to instead work out a financial agreement with him directly. Monique continued, Owens eventually stopping paying any money, so court involvement became necessary.

Owens accused Monique of being only interested in money, because she consistently raised the amount of support she demanded and that no amount of money was ever enough for her.
