“This, right here, is his lifetime achievement award,” Prince, 14, told the crowd. “This is what he strived to get, and this is what we are giving him now.”

Jackson’s children made an imprint in the cement using the King of Pop’s famous sequin glove and a pair of his dancing shoes. They also added their own handprints.

Comedian/actor Chris Tucker, music legends Smokey Robinson and Quincy Jones also showed up for the ceremony, as did Jackson’s mother, Katherine, and his brothers, Tito and Jackie.

Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff allowed attorney John Branca and music executive John McClain to bill the estate separately for their professional services, which include entertainment-related legal counsel and use of a recording studio founded by Marvin Gaye.

Attorneys for Branca and McClain sought the change, saying the executors spend an increasing amount of time on Jackson’s estate and have been paying legal expenses to Branca’s firm out of their share of the earnings.

The men agreed in February 2010 to accept 10 percent of the gross entertainment-related earnings of the estate, minus money generated by Jackson’s 50 percent interest in the Sony-ATV music catalog and earnings from “This Is It,” a film compiled from the singer’s final rehearsals.

The exclusions are huge revenue generators for the estate — the Sony-ATV catalog includes publishing rights to music by The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan and other stars. The executors also have been excluded an interest in Jackson’s music, which has sold briskly since his death June 25 at age 50.

Since then, the estate has earned more than $310 million.

Branca and McClain have been earning closer to 7 percent of the estate’s entertainment-related earnings, as the estate has become a “massive entertainment business enterprise,” court filings state.

Branca and McClain said they are spending more time developing Jackson projects than anticipated, including music, video games and a touring Cirque-du-Soleil show that will eventually become a Las Vegas fixture.

Under the deal approved Monday, Branca’s firm Ziffren Brittenham LLP will now receive 3 percent of entertainment-related income generated by Jackson’s estate.

Paris also discusses her latest acting gig, explains what it was like to wear a mask as a child and shares the most memorable thing her father told her.

Many have been surprised to hear about Paris’ latest film endeavors, but she explains that it was a long time coming.

Jackson tells Ellen DeGeneres that she’s wanted to act since “I was really little. My dad was in the movie Moonwalker and I knew he could sing really well, but I didn’t know he could act. I saw that and I said, ‘Wow, I want to be just like him.’

“We would do improv together. He would give us little scenarios. He would say, ‘OK, in this scene, you’re going to cry,’ and I’d cry on the spot.”

Growing up wearing a mask must have seemed strange to the young girl, but Paris realizes that her father was only doing this to protect her and give her the chance of a normal childhood.

“I’m like, This is stupid. Why am I wearing a mask? But I kind of realized the older I got like he only tried to protect us and he’d explain that to us, too.”

And as far as the most memorable thing Jackson has said to Paris…

“He said, ‘If I die tomorrow, always remember what I told you.’ I took his advice and I remembered everything he told me.”

Dr. Conrad Murray, serving a four-year jail term for the involuntary manslaughter of Jackson in 2009, filed papers with Los Angeles Superior Court saying he was unable to fund his legal help any longer.

“The defendant is indigent and respectfully requests the appointment of counsel on appeal,” the court papers said.

Murray said he wished to appeal both his conviction and his sentence but so far has not filed formal papers with the California appeals court.

The 58-year-old cardiologist had hired two lawyers for his six-week trial, but he was convicted in November of involuntary manslaughter, or gross negligence, after admitting he gave the pop music icon nightly doses of the surgical anesthetic propofol to help Jackson sleep.

Jackson, 50, died on June 25, 2009 of an overdose of propofol and sedatives, just weeks before a series of planned comeback concerts.

While they may be mini-celebs with multimillion-dollar trust funds reportedly waiting for them when they turn 30 – their father’s estate earned $445 million in the past two years alone, according to Forbes – the kids are leading relatively normal lives.

The children do indeed sound like average kids. Michael Jackson’s mom Katherine holds the fort down at 81 years of age!  Prince and Paris attend a private school and are enjoying the social side of life.  Blanket, described as “shy” is home schooled and  has taken to cooking. Only time will tell but things sound like they are off to a great start.

Paris will star as an as yet undisclosed human character in “Lundon’s Bridge and the Three Keys,” a live action feature film based on a children’s book series by Dennis H. Christen.

According to the book’s description on Amazon, the story surrounds “the war between the land and the sea.”

“Ancient sea-magic turns a dolphin into a human, an evil spell changes a teenage boy into a dragonfly and a once good and loving jellyfish queen becomes an evil fairy godmother. This modern day adventure forces an unsuspecting family to become the weapon to fight the war which rages on the land and under the sea,” the description reads.

Paris is also featured on the book cover.

The film will also feature the voices of Larry King as King Pom, his wife, Shawn King as Queen Dalina.

The project is currently in production and no release date is currently available.

Jackson made the prints in 1984 for a Las Vegas hotel, which had commissioned the piece for a “Hollywood Walk of Fame”-inspired exhibit in front of its main entrance. The exhibit never happened, and the priceless concrete slab sat unnoticed in the hotel basement—until it was auctioned off years later, with a man named Andy Wilson placing the winning bid.

Now, the Jackson family is laying claim over the piece, arguing that it’s the rightful property of Mike’s estate. They’ve offered Wilson a $25,000 upfront fee and a percentage of any merchandising profits earned off the item. But Wilson is refusing, telling TMZ that the price isn’t right and that he’s holding out for a better deal.

In the paperwork, Dr. Murray has “in pro per” listed beneath his name on the legal filing, indicating he will be representing himself during his appeal.

Additionally, Dr. Murray has requested trial materials, such as transcripts, opening statements and written motions, be sent to him. The address listed at the top of the paperwork is for the Men’s Central Jail, where he is serving out his four-year jail sentence.

Dr. Murray’s sentencing hearing earlier this week, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor criticized the physician.

“Dr. Murray created a set of circumstances and became involved in a cycle of horrible medicine,” the judge said. “The practice of propofol for medicine madness, which violated his sworn obligation, for money, fame prestige and whatever else may have occurred,” the judge added.

Prince, Paris and Blanket Jackson attended Wednesday’s X Factor live show, supporting the top 7 singers as they performed tributes to the late King of Pop.

In addition to their uncles Jackie, Tito and Marlon, the kids’ grandmother, Katherine Jackson, also joined in on the fun, telling X Factor host Steve Jones “this is my favorite show!”

“We didn’t know the kids were planning to come! Only about an hour before the show we were told they were definitely coming so we had to get ready for them! Of course everyone was very excited they could make it; it made the show extra special,” an X Factor source tells Us Weekly. “They were very polite and sweet, and excited to be there, as was Katherine. They said they’d love to come back. They are all big fans of the show!”

While the kids didn’t have the chance to meet the contestants, they did mingle with judges L.A. Reid and Nicole Scherzinger.

Frontrunner Melanie Amaro told Us she felt added pressure performing for the late singer’s family and hopes she did them proud.

“It was really something to be able to [sing for the family],” Amaro said backstage after Wednesday’s show.

Luckily for Amaro, Katherine Jackson was especially pleased with her rendition of “Earth Song.”

“I said hello to his mom, and she said she really enjoyed the performance, so I was really happy about that,” she told Us.

Amaro — along with Astro, Drew, Chris Rene, Rachel Crow, Josh Krajcik and Marcus Canty — will learn if their tribute performances were enough to save them from a double elimination on Thursday’s show.
