Michael Jackson’s Doctor Conrad Murray Too Poor to Pay for Appeal

Tuesday, Michael Jackson’s doctor, Conrad Murray, asked for a publicly-funded lawyer to handle his appeal on a manslaughter conviction in the pop star’s death, saying he could not afford to pay for one himself.

Dr. Conrad Murray, serving a four-year jail term for the involuntary manslaughter of Jackson in 2009, filed papers with Los Angeles Superior Court saying he was unable to fund his legal help any longer.

The doctor who was convicted in the death of Michael Jackson was sentenced to the maximum 4 years in prison Tuesday in a finale to the tormented saga of the King of Pop.

Dr. Conrad Murray in Isolation, Not on Suicide Watch, Despite Rumors

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department says Dr. Conrad Murray has not been placed on suicide watch, contrary to an earlier report from the Los Angeles Times.

Murray is being held in a cell in the medical services building where there is a higher ratio of guards to inmates for his safety, according to Deputy Jeff Cannon.

It is an area where they sometimes keep suicidal inmates, but authorities say Murray is not on suicide watch, Cannon said.

A new documentary provides a new, never-before-seen perspective on Conrad Murray, the doctor who was recently convicted of negligent manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson.

Dr. Conrad Murray GUILTY OF INVOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER in Michael Jackson’s Death [VIDEO]

After deliberating for less than two days, jurors have have found Michael Jackson’s personal physician Conrad Murray GUILTY of causing Jackson’s death in 2009 from an overdose of the powerful anesthetic propofol.

Dr. Conrad Murray now faces up to four years in prison.

By attorney request, the judge also stated that Dr. Conrad Murray will be sentenced on November 29th. He will be held in County custody without bail until then, as he is considered a public safety threat.

Dr. Conrad Murray is hoping to cash in on his notoriety. Sources claim he’s pitching a TV documentary about his late patient Michael Jackson’s death.

The trial of Dr. Conrad Murray, the doctor accused in Michael Jackson’s death, finished closing arguments Thursday.

Defense attorney Ed Chernoff argued that Murray shouldn’t be convicted of killing the King of Pop because the singer caused his own death by administering his own overdose of the anesthetic propofol. Chernoff questioned why no propofol was found in the IV bag by Jackson’s bed and proposed that Jackson’s fame was the reason Murray was on trial for involuntary manslaughter.

Testimony Ends in Michael Jackson Death Trial, Dr. Conrad Murray Remains Silent

Dr. Conrad Murray announced in court Tuesday that he will not testify in his involuntary manslaughter trial.

Murray paused and looked at each of his lawyers for several seconds before telling the judge, “My decision is that I will not testify in this matter.”

His decision to remain silent brought to an end the defense case in the trial of Michael Jackson’s doctor, setting the stage for closing arguments on Thursday.
