Either her Spanx are working overtime, or her body was so tight while she was pregnant that it has bounced back just 1 month after giving birth.

Beyoncé stepped out for the first time Monday night since becoming a new mom to Blue Ivy Carter. And it was all in support of her husband Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter.

Beyoncé rocked a skin tight red ruched dress 3/4 sleeve dress by Alice Temperly for her husband’s charitable concert at Carnegie Hall. And she paired it with multicolored Christian Louboutin pumps and a gold clutch.

She clearly had Baby Blue on her mind with this huge blue rock on her finger and electric blue nails.

The folks at Billboard magazine and others are tweeting up a storm about her partying at the 40/40 Club afterparty – with mama Tina Knowles, of course.

My Fox Houston reports that two locals have launched an effort to erect a monument honoring the iconic singer in her Hometown of Houston, Texas.

“Our biggest thing is a lot of people get honored when they die,” said Marcus Mitchell, who together with Steve White and their company Armdeonce Ventures is campaigning for the effort, “so our goal why not honor people why they’re still here? We felt as though it’s her time to be honored.” Mitchell and White claim they have the support of the city’s mayor. Currently they are looking for a location and private donors for the project.

“We wanted to construct, like, a massive hall so as the doors open, if you donated to the monument,” said Mitchell, “you’ll have a separate nameplate.… There will be clips of Beyoncé with Destiny’s Child and wardrobe like a mini museum.”

The duo hope to unveil the site on Beyonce’s birthday, September 4. They also say part of the proceeds generated by the monument will benefit organizations like Music for America, Beyoncé’s Survivor foundation and the Grammy Cares foundation.

While there have been claims that the mayor of Houston, Annise Parker, supports plans for the monument, no such backing has been confirmed.

Despite the claims, a spokesperson denied the report via Twitter.

“Fox is wrong. The City of Houston is not behind, working with or having anything to do with an effort to build a monument honoring Beyonce,” Evans tweeted, adding that Houston does “heart Beyonce and her music.”

A course at Rutger’s University suggests Beyonce’s appearance, lyrics, and public appeal reflect that of something bigger than mere entertainment. She could be setting the standard and making a statement with all the images she puts forth through music.

Beyonce’s husband, rapper Jay-Z is already the subject of his very own course for college credit at Georgetown University.

Kevin Allred, a doctoral student and lecturer in Rutgers’ Department of Women’s and Gender Studies, where he teaches “Politicizing Beyoncé,” says, she isn’t seen as “political” in the traditional sense of the word.

“This isn’t a course about Beyoncé’s political engagement or how many times she performed during President Obama’s inauguration weekend,” he says. Rather, Beyonce’s music and career are used as lenses to explore American race, gender, and sexual politics. Allred pairs Beyoncé’s music videos and lyrics with readings from the Black feminist canon, including the writings of bell hooks, Alice Walker, and even abolitionist Sojourner Truth.

“Politicizing Beyoncé” emerged from Allred’s four semesters teaching Women’s Studies 101 at Rutgers, during which he and his students, both male and female, often discussed the thin line Beyoncé walks as a “sex kitten-cum-girl” power role model.

“She certainly pushes boundaries,” Allred says. “While other artists are simply releasing music, she’s creating a grand narrative around her life, her career, and her persona.”

Course topics include the extent of Beyoncé’s control over her own aesthetic, whether her often half-naked body is empowered or stereotypical, and her more racy performances as her alter ego, “Sasha Fierce.” In-class discussions often lead to other vocalists, including Billie Holiday, Nina Simone, Lady Gaga, and contemporary musicians who embrace the soul singing tradition like Adele and the late Amy Winehouse.

According to a rumor being reported by RadarOnline, the couple has chosen Oprah to be Blue’s godmother, as they have grown increasingly closer to her.

Jay-Z’s best friend, Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith, has allegedly been chosen to be Blue’s godfather.

Earlier this month Oprah sent over a trunk of children’s books to Blue as her baby gift. And in 2010 Winfrey named Jay-Z’s book ‘Decoded’ as one of her “Favorite Things,” saying how impressed she was by it after he sent her an advance copy.

Oprah currently is the godmother to her best friend Gayle King’s daughter Kirby and her son Will Bumpus.

In 2008 Oprah gave the commencement speech during Kirby’s graduation from Stanford University and beamed with pride as she revealed that she was Kirby’s godmother.

“I need to begin by letting everyone in on a little secret. The secret is that Kirby Bumpus, Stanford Class of ’08, is my goddaughter. So, I was thrilled when President Hennessy asked me to be your Commencement speaker, because this is the first time I’ve been allowed on campus since Kirby’s been here,” Oprah said.

Oprah’s best friend Gayle King commented Friday morning on the godmother speculation, saying the rumors were not true.

According to reports, the decision to shut it down was made on Thursday January 19 after food was not being stored at the proper temperatures, a food worker did not use a proper utensil to eliminate bare-hand contact with food that was going to be served cold, and personal cleanliness was found inadequate (no hair nets, etc.).

The announcement was made in Las Vegas, where the 2012 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is currently taking place and Duracell, alongside Powermat, are debuting their new line of wireless products.

Jay-Z will not only be the company’s new spokesperson; he has signed on as an investment partner of the company as well.

According to The Insider, Oprah sent over a “trunk” of children’s books to Blue Ivy Carter, Beyonce and Jay-Z’s daughter.

It was a fitting choice of present from the woman who many say became the savior of the book industry, and who started her own school. Moreover, Oprah has a history of book-related gifts when it comes to the Carter family. Back in 2010, she chose Jay-Z’s book “Decoded” as one of her “Favorite Things,” saying that she’d been floored by it after he sent her a copy.

Since being born on Saturday night (Jan. 7), Blue Carter has become a trending topic on Twitter and had a song recorded for her by daddy Jay-Z. Before long, she’ll be reading, and thanks to Oprah Winfrey, she’ll have no shortage of good books.

No word on what books were actually in the trunk — or how big the trunk was.

The CEO of Music World Entertainment will go back to teaching his signature course, The Recording Industry, beginning in the spring semester, which starts on Jan. 23.

The insightful course gives students a glimpse of how the industry works from business affairs and marketing to A&R and distribution. It also explores specialized areas of the industry including artist development, branding, songwriting, music publishing and so much more.

“Teaching and mentoring young adults is one of my passions,” says Knowles. “I am most impressed with their intellect and creative thinking abilities. I’m confident that my students will continue to develop into critical thinkers and will go on to be brilliant contributors to society.”

And don’t get him wrong; he’s not putting his music career on hold. He’ll continue running the company and nurturing new talent at Music World Entertainment.

The song “Glory” made its debut on his social website Life and Times on Monday — two days after his wife Beyonce gave birth to daughter Blue Ivy.

An official statement from the couple came Monday afternoon, as both said: “We are happy to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.”

The couple said the baby was delivered naturally and weighed seven pounds (3.2 kilograms). “Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful, we are in heaven. … It was the best experience of both of our lives. We are thankful to everyone for all your prayers, well wishes, love and support.”

Jay-Z’s sweet song, in which he says “you’re my child with a child from Destiny’s Child,” gives more revelations.

In the song, Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, talks about where the child was conceived (in Paris) and even reveals that Beyonce had a miscarriage at one point.

“Last time the miscarriage was so tragic/We was afraid you’d disappear/But nah baby you magic.”

The song’s refrain is: “The most amazing feeling I feel/Words can’t describe what I’m feeling for real/ Maybe I paint the sky blue/My greatest creation was you. You. Glory.”

The sound of a baby’s cries — perhaps Blue’s — ends the song. The song says it features “B.I.C.” — Blue’s initials.

It’s the first child for the power couple, who wed in 2008 in a private ceremony after a years-long courtship. Beyonce announced her pregnancy to the world last August at the MTV Video Music Awards with a simple rub of her swollen belly.

Celebs close to the couple have tweeted congrats. Beyonce’s sister, Solange Knowles, tweeted Sunday morning: “The most beautiful girl in the world,” while Beyonce’s close friend Gwyneth Paltrow also tweeted: “Welcome to the world Blue! We love you already.”

The couple gave birth at Lenox Hill Hospital on New York’s Upper East Side on Saturday. The hospital’s executive director, Frank Danza, said in a statement Monday that the hospital was “delighted” to have the couple deliver their child there.”
