“It’s diet or DIE for Ruben,” an source told the National Enquirer, explaining that Studdard started really packing on the pounds following his messy divorce from his wife of three years, Surata “Zuri” McCants, and stress over financial troubles.

Althought they have never treated Studdard, physicians Gabe Mirkin and Craig Title weighed in on Studdard’s health crisis. Mirkin tells the Enquirer that “Ruben’s weight is extremely unhealthy and dangerous,” while Title declares there is “a grave concern that Ruben will not make it to his 40th birthday at the rate he’s going.”

Studdard, 33, won the second season of “American Idol,” while Clay Aiken was the runner-up. Studdard was dubbed the “Velvet Teddy Bear” while on the show. His new album, “Letters from Birmingham,” is named after his hometown in Alabama and features the single “June 28th (I’m Single).” The album and the songs deal with the ups and downs of modern romance.

Ruben Studdard filed for divorce from wife Surata Zuri McCants in November after 3 years of marriage. The two met in 2006, at a CD signing event in Walmart. McCants has a daughter from a previous relationship.

“We were just going in two separate directions,” he said on “The Wendy Williams Show”. “There’s no hard feelings. At the beginning, I think we should have taken a lot more time to get to know each other. We dated for about six months and then we got engaged. I want a big family. Some people don’t want a big family.”

Studdard was overweight when he won “American Idol.” His weight has fluctuated over the years as he tried new diets and said on “The Wendy Williams Show” that he has regained most of it due to stress eating, adding: “I just started going out and kicking it.”

Ruben Studdard’s records have not sold as well as those put out by Aiken and fellow “American Idol” alumni, namely season 1 winner Kelly Clarkson and season 4 champion Carrie Underwood. Clay Aiken is featured on the current season of “The Celebrity Apprentice,” which has stars participating in business-oriented tasks to win money for charity.

Studdard made a point to praise Aiken for all he does.

“When you’re in that kind of situation, I think Clay is going to come out and he’s actually one of the funniest people,” Studdard said. “I mean his personality…A lot of people think that both of us are really shy, when we’re really not. We did a tour together, and both of our managers were saying that ‘we should have a camera so everyone can see how stupid you guys are.’”

Studdard also ‘came clean’ to Wendy Williams about owing $100,000 in back taxes to the IRS, “saying he’s never been late” and that he “always filed.”

“We’re trying to work it out right now,” Studdard said. “We’re in the process of working with them, and hopefully we can get that accomplished here soon. But you know, I won’t be the first person to be on television with that and I won’t be the last.”

Studdard joins a long list of celebrities who have owed thousands to the IRS, including Val Kilmer, Christie Brinkley, The Osbournes and Marlee Matlin, who placed second on the previous season of “The Celebrity Apprentice.”

Studdard discussed FOX’s newest singing contest series, “The X Factor,” headed by former “American Idol” judge Simon Cowell. The show is looking to replace departing judges Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger. Mariah Carey, Britney Spears and Fergie have been named as rumored contenders.

“I definitely think Mariah Carey would be a great judge,” Studdard told Wendy Williams. “I feel like that because she wouldn’t hold any punches – she would just say exactly what’s on her mind.”

Jones was kicked off “American Idol” Wednesday night, after producers learned he concealed the fact that he was arrested twice last year and has outstanding warrants.

Producers discovered Tuesday that Jones had lied about his criminal history, which prompted the decision to confront him on camera Tuesday afternoon. The on camera confrontation aired on Wednesday’s “American Idol” episode.

Reportedly, one of the incidents involved violence, which was especially unsettling to producers. He also lied to cops by giving them fake names both times he was arrested.

TMZ reported that Jones told producers his father abandoned him 10 years ago, but Jones’ dad said his son see each other regularly.

Jermaine began tweeting that he never told producers about his dad abandoning him. Reportedly, “Idol” producers became suspicious and started looking further into his background, leading to the revelation of his criminal history.

Jones, 25, of Pine Hill, N.J., confirmed via Twitter that he’s being booted from “Idol”: “Awww I will no longer b on the show,” he said, according to USA Today. Jones’ Twitter account has already been deleted.

Jones was kicked off the show a few weeks ago, only to be brought back into the competition.

Jermaine Jones is not the first “American Idol” contestant to be kicked off for failing to disclose a criminal record. “American Idol” contestant Corey Clark was disqualified from the show’s second season for concealing his arrest in connection with a battery charge.

RadarOnline claims that Barrino’s boyfriend/baby daddy, Antwaun Cook, is allegedly thinking about getting back with his estranged wife Paula Cook. The love triangle between Fantasia, Antwaun and Paula has been a messy one from the beginning with accusations coming all sides.

R.O. claims to have spoken to a family insider who told them that Antwaun ‘regrets leaving Paula and their two children.’

They also described a night out that Antwaun and Paula spent together in North Carolina, while Fantasia and their 3-month-old baby son Dallas, were nowhere to be seen.

Fantasia, 27, also has a 10-year-old daughter Zion, from a previous relationship. She gave birth to Dallas on December 13, 2011. Antwaun is named on the birth certificate as the father, but allegedly his interests lie with his other family.

Reportedly, Paula and Antwaun were recently at the same Charlotte, NC nightclub, and while they did not come together, a source claims “things got a little cozy between the two.”

Rumors suggested that Fantasia Barrino and Antwaun first began dating in 2010, while he and Paula were still living together

Paula even took the case to court, trying to prove that Fantasia actively tried to destroy her marriage, but the judge ruled in Barrino’s favor and agreed that that the relationships did not overlap.

Fantasia took an overdose after she was accused of breaking-up the couple and their family.

“Antwaun has lost interest in Fantasia,” the insider said.

Although Deadline reports Abdul – along with X Factor host Steve Jones and fellow mentor Nicole Scherzinger – was nixed when producers were “cleaning house” and didn’t leave on her own, the reality TV veteran respects Cowell’s decision.

“I’ve learned through my longevity in this industry that business decisions often times override personal considerations,” Abdul revealed in a statement Tuesday, hours after a FOX rep confirmed Abdul, Scherzinger and Jones would not be returning for season 2.

While fans may be surprised, Abdul knew her departure from the series was looming.

“Simon and I have been communicating about this for a while now, and I have absolute understanding of the situation,” her statement further explained, calling her time on the series “a blessing.”

Cowell stated he and Abdul will work with his former American Idol colleague again soon.

“I want to say a massive thank you to Paula, Nicole and Steve for being part of The X Factor last year,” Cowell said Tuesday. “You do develop friendships with the people you work with and Paula, in particular, is a very close friend and I expect to be working with her on another project in the near future.

Cowell, who created the series and brought it to the United Stares after incredible success in the U.K. said, “I’m sure all three are going to have massive success in what they do next, but now is the time to thank them all for everything they did last year.”

Simon’s Syco Entertainment will team up with Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment to produce a live, international show dedicated to find the world’s next biggest DJ.

“We have been working on this show for over a year and we wanted to partner with the right people,” Simon said in a statement. “DJs are the new rock stars, it feels like the right time to make this show.”

The new mother, full-time waitress and part-time singer was revealed as a contestant on the show on Sunday night when she took part in the San Diego, California auditions.

Carrey performed “Something to Talk About” in front of judges Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson who all voted her through to the next round of the competition.

Jane Carrey, 24, confessed, it has been hard growing-up as Jim Carrey’s daughter, stating, “It is difficult kind of growing-up in the shadow of something and trying to find your place in the world underneath this huge shadow.”

Jennifer Lopez was stunned when she discovered Jane was Jim Carrey’s daughter. Lopez was a dancer on the sketch comedy show, “In Living Color”, on which Jim was an up-and-coming comedian. Jane was a baby at the time.

Jennifer exclaimed, “I remember you when you were little. Do you remember me? I was one of the Fly Girls.”

Jane Carrey responded, “I think I was, like, two.”
