The Washington Redskins open training camp today in Northern Virginia with high expectations for the upcoming NFL season. The Mike Shanahan era begins today, and the fans are expecting immediate results with veteran QB Donovan McNabb taking over, the first major decision by new GM Bruce Allen. Good call? Time will tell, but many believe McNabb’s best days are behind him. After finishing dead last in the NFC East, there’s nowhere to go but up for these Redskins. Drama unfolding with DT Albert Haynesworth, who despite earning over $21 million last season, is very unhappy with the team’s direction, and has been demoted to second string.
