Actor Will Smith recently told BBC Radio about his 13-year-old son Jadens’s meeting with President Obama and the big question he planned to ask, which Smith insisted he keep to himself, reports ew.com

“I was at the White House with my family and we were getting a tour,” recalled Smith. “The night before, Jaden had said to me, ‘Dad, I gotta ask the president about the aliens,’ and I was like, ‘Dude, no, no, it’s not cool! Do not ask the president!’”

Smith explained, “So we get into the Situation Room and Jaden gets the look in his eyes and he leans over and he says, ‘Dad, what’s my punishment?’ And I was like, ‘Jaden, do not’ and Barack is talking about the Situation Room, and Jaden says, ‘Excuse me, Mr. President?’ And Barack said, ‘Don’t tell me.’ And in perfect form—like, this is why he’s the President—he stopped and looked at Jaden and said, ‘The aliens, right?’ And I was like, ‘Oh, shoot!’ And he said, ‘Okay, I can neither confirm nor deny the existence of extraterrestrials but I can tell you if there had been a top secret meeting and if there would have had to have been a discussion about it, it would have taken place in this room.’”

Smith joked that Jaden only has about eight or nine more months left of being grounded.

BET said in a statement Thursday that Hall isn’t coming back because of his “involvement on a new project.” Hall recently signed on to do the Showtime pilot “Ray Donovan.”

Actress Tia Mowry, 33, announced earlier in the week that she is not returning to the series.

Season 5 of “The Game” is currently airing. Mowry stars as Melanie Barnett-Davis, a medical school graduate and wife of football star Derwin Davis, played by Pooch Hall. The first three seasons originally aired on the CW from 2006 to 2009. After nearly two years off-air, BET picked up the show and it became a ratings success.

BET said it “is in the process of re-working the casting and storyline” and hopes Pooch Hall and Tia Mowry “will make several guest appearances.”

The U.S. Census Bureau officially reports, whites for the first time ever, make up less than half of newborns in the U.S. Minority newborns have for the first time weighed in at just over half of the population.

The Wall Street Journal reports, among the roughly four million children born in the U.S. between July 2010 and July 2011, 50.4% belonged to a racial or ethnic group that in previous generations would have classified them as minorities, up from 48.6% in the same period two years earlier, the Census Bureau said Thursday.

The Census Bureau also recognizes research by William H. Frey, a demographer at the Brookings Institution, which says African-Americans are the largest minority among adults over 50. However, for younger Americans — including the newborns forming America’s first “majority minority” generation — Hispanics are the second-largest population group after whites of European descent.

El Debarge made a comeback in 2010, however, shortly after the CD’s release, he slipped back into a dark place.

El Debarge says rapper 50 Cent and singer/producer Babyface saw the star in need and helped him to recovery, reports eurweb.

“I started getting these thoughts, and I called 50 cent up, and I said, ‘You gotta help me. I’m already on my way to doing something wrong.’ So 50 came like five cars deep, picked me up right from where I was, got me outta there, they met up with Babyface, they took me into Interscope, we all had a meeting, and they said, ‘Man why don’t you just go to rehab,’”reveals Debarge.

Debarge also explains, “You have to get your mind right, and you have to have the tools to that you need to stay in recovery.”

Before Whitney Houston died, Debarge says they made plans to sing together.

“She said ‘I need you, I wanna finish my album, I want you to sing with me.’ I was just happy that she embraced me like that, and I wanted to do something, but the next thing I know, she was gone,” reveals Debarge.

Reportedly, CBS has decided to drop Lawrence’s sitcom pilot, in which he plays a widowed father of two who pursues a career as a cop after losing his construction job. Actress Regina Hall was also set to star in the series.

No details have been revealed as to why the network won’t be moving forward with Lawrence’s series, or if it plans to bring it back in the future.

Lawrence has not announced any other film or television projects.

Grace is best known for her 1981 hit “Pull Up To The Bumper”. It appears Chris Bosh is the MAN in Miami.   Since  Bosh was  injured in Game 1, things have dramatically changed in the Pacers outlook and game plan for the remainder of their series with the Heat.    Game 2 in South Beach saw  the Heat  fold in the late stages, and last night in Game 3, Miami was never in control of the contest as Indiana  took  a 2 – zip lead in the series.   The Pacers also hold home-court advantage which puts extreme pressure on a team expected to win it all.

The NBA Playoffs are getting into the later rounds, and the match-up between  the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Los Angeles Lakers may be overhyped as the Lakers spent so much energy trying to avoid neing upset by Denver, they may not have the stamina to take on the explosive Thunder.   Game 1 was a rout as OKC ran away with a 29-point victory, but the Lakers were more competitive in Game 2.   Unfortunately, LA came up on the short end of a 77-75 win by the Thunder, who now head to Los Angeles with a 2-0 lead.

 The LA Clippers accomplished a rare feat.   They won a playoff series, but now the Clippers must deal with some NBA reality in San Antonio after the Spurs ran off to victory Tuesday night in Game 1.   This series may be over in four or five games, and with Blake Griffin’s banged-up, Chris Paul will have to step up his game against this powerful Spurs team.  Game 2 is set for tonight in Texas.

That old Boston/Philly series may become a rivalry again.    The Sixers went into BeanTown and pulled off a Game 2 victory in the Boston Garden, but last night in Philadelphia, the Celtics rebounded in a major way with a 107-91 blow-out of  the 76ers in Game 3.   Boston regains the series lead 2-1 and recovers the home-court advantage with Game 4 set for Friday night.  

Meanwhile, off the court, Cleveland’s Kyrie Irving has been named the NBA’s Rookie of the Year after he averaged 18 points and 5 assists per game for the Cavaliers this past season.    Indiana Pacers GM Larry Bird was voted the NBA’s Executive of the Year.

 
The Queen of Disco, singer Donna Summer died this morning at 63 years old, after a battle with cancer, reports TMZ.

“Early this morning, we lost Donna Summer Sudano, a woman of many gifts, the greatest being her faith,” the singer’s family said in a statement. “While we grieve her passing, we are at peace celebrating her extraordinary life and her continued legacy. Words truly can’t express how much we appreciate your prayers and love for our family at this sensitive time.”

Summer was a 5-time Grammy winner who shot to superstardom in the ’70s with iconic hits like “Last Dance,” “Hot Stuff” and “Bad Girls.”

She continued her dominance in the ’80s with “She Works Hard for the Money” and “This Time I Know It’s for Real.”

Summer was the first female artist to chart with back-to-back multi-platinum double albums.

She appeared in the 1978 film, “Thank God It’s Friday,” which won the best original song Oscar for “Last Dance.” Summer also appeared on the 1990s hit TV show “Family Matters.”

Summer and her producer Giorgio Moroder defined the dance music era of the ’70s and influenced several artists to join the disco craze as well.

Summer married Brooklyn Dreams singer Bruce Sudano back in 1980. Summer had three daughters and four grandchildren.
