“30 Rock” actor Tracy Morgan has been accused of making anti-gay comments at a recent comedy show in Nashville.
Kevin Rogers, who said he attended the June 3rd show, detailed the alleged statements in a Facebook note, “Why I No Longer ‘Like’ Tracy Morgan.” Rogers claims that Morgan said being gay is a choice because “God don’t make no mistakes” and that lesbians are “just pretending.”
He also alleges that Morgan said if his son was gay, his child would have to “talk to him like a man,” not a homosexual, or he would stab him to death. Rogers said 10 to 15 people walked out of the show.
Tracy reportedly made similar statements at a 2009 show in New York City, calling homosexuality “a choice,”.
The Ryman Auditorium, where Tracy performed, responded in a statement, saying the theater “regrets that people were offended by statements” Morgan made, adding that it “does not control the content presented by people appearing on its stage, nor does it endorse any of the views of, or statements made by, such persons.”

Late Friday afternoon, “30 Rock” actor Tracy Morgan has issued an apology to fans and the gay and lesbian community for an anti-gay rant during his weekend gig at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium that has landed him in hot water.
“I want to apologize to my fans and the gay & lesbian community for my choice of words at my recent stand-up act in Nashville. I’m not a hateful person and don’t condone any kind of violence against others,” Morgan said in a statement. ”
While I am an equal opportunity jokester, and my friends know what is in my heart, even in a comedy club this clearly went too far and was not funny in any context,” he added.
A rep for Morgan’s “30 Rock” boss, Tina Fey, a well known LGBT advocate, has not responded to a request for comment.
