Today is the Democratic Caucus Day for voters who live in the Virginia 16th Senate District vacated by the retired Senator Henry L. Marsh, lll. He fought a good fight for people at the Virginia General Assembly for 22 years. We thank the former senator for his service to all communities yesterday and today.

Your vote is your voice, your choice, your right and your power. The Democratic Caucus is today for the Virginia 16th Senate District seat vacated by the retired Senator Henry L. Marsh, lll. There are two House of Delegate members, a former mayor and a businesswoman vying for one seat this Saturday.

Registered voters in the Virginia 16th Senate District will head to the voter polls today. The polls are open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Virginia 16th Senate District covers parts of Richmond, Chesterfield, covers the cities of Petersburg, Hopewell and parts of Prince George and Dinwiddie counties.

Civil Rights Icon, Senator Henry L. Marsh, lll held the Virginia 16th Senate District seat for two decades in the Virginia General Assembly. Marsh retired July 3, 2014. And, the candidates are House of Delegates member Deloris McQuinn, Delegate Rosalyn Dance, former mayor Rudy McCollum, and businesswoman Gerry Rawlinson.

The candidate who wins today’s democratic caucus will face-off with independent candidate for the Virginia 16th Senate District, Preston Brown. The general election is Tuesday, November 4, 2014.
