Radio One Richmond was delighted to have an opportunity to provide Kiss Fm listeners with a private showing of “Get On Up, the James Brown Story”. The heartfelt, funny, focused, and funky movie premieres in theatres this Friday.

You will be treated to mini-concerts from James Brown and the Flames throughout the biopic. You will definitely laugh, dance, and have a couple of ‘awh’ moments.

Get ready to take a quick journey through the life of Mr. Dynamite, Mr. Brown, Soul Brother #1 and the Godfather of Soul. Chadwick Boseman did a fantastic depiction of James Brown’s life spanning some 60 decades. From the abandonment by his parents, jail time, showbiz, millions, tax invasion, jail time #2, and his death on Christmas Day 2006.

Also, a very special thank you to the producer of the James Brown movie Tate Taylor.

Brown was recognized as one of the greatest entertainers worldwide. His music has been the most sampled by hip hop artist.
