6th Annual American Legion Post 242 & Sandston Memorial Day Parade Monday, May 26, at Seven Pines Elementary School, parade starts at 1pm with Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks & Richmond Native Michael Robinson. Fans can attend a one hour meet & greet with Robinson after the parade.

The 3rd annual Rockets Red Glare Fireworks Celebration, Sunday, May 25th, and sponsored by The Boathouse. The free event kicks off with Colin Healy performing at 5:30 p.m., followed by Kings of Swing at 6:30 p.m. and they will perform until about 9 p.m., leading into fireworks. Some of Richmond’s favorite food trucks will be set up shop, and you will have your choice of craft beer, wine and other beverages.Make sure to get there early enough to grab a good parking spot, and bring a blanket or chair. The event starts at 5:30 p.m., fireworks at 9 p.m. Displays runs about 15 minutes. Sounds of Summer Concert Series featuring The Koinonia Jazz Experience,  Sunday, May 25, 4pm at Weston’s Plantation, 400 Weston Lane, Hopewell, overlooking the Appomattox River, off 21st Avenue near the Hopewell Marina. Richmond National Battlefield Park, in operation with the Department of Veterans Affairs Memorial Day Program and wreath-laying, Monday, May 26, noon at the Fort Harrison National Cemetery on the Fort Harrison battlefield, 8620 Varina Road.
