Day 5 has proven that my body really does know how to run on fumes. I think I’ve attended just about every single event on the 2014 Fantastic Voyage.  Yesterday was the second full day being at sea for over 24 hours.   It wasn’t bad for me this time around and judging from the motion sickness patches and pills I seen people carrying around; everyone was prepared for this sea day.

Can I just say that Kym Whitley is pure comedy! She hosted a dating game and the people chosen to participate along with her personality, made the entire event a site to witness. Three female contestants competed to win a date with one lucky bachelor. Now, you didn’t hear this from me, but I saw that lucky bachelor and his winning lady  walk into the Chante Moore/Charlie Wilson concert later that night.  So it’s safe to say the two hit it off really well.

After the dating game I headed over to the autograph signing area. People stood in line patiently to receive autographs from Dr. Bobby Jones, Chante Moore,  George Clinton, Mystikal, Derek J and so many more. Although these same people have been walking around the boat this entire week, it was nice to see the celebrities get up close and personal with their true fans. It’s one thing to see them in concert and another to meet them in person.

Later that evening Chante Moore who is more beautiful in person than I imagined hit the stage with Charlie Wilson. She performed a lot of new material detailing  her life over the past five years and mentioned that we would get a lot more tea on the next season of “R&B Divas: LA.”  And since I love my daily dose of hot tea, I will be buying the album and watching next season.

Uncle Charlie is a timeless act that gets better with time. Charlie commands the crowd from start to finish. By the time he got to his classic hits like ‘First Name Charlie’ my feet felt like I completely abused them. Just disrespectful! But when Charlie says get on your feet, you don’t have a choice!  Did I mention it was also Mardi Gras night and a parade/party went down on the ship.  It was nice to see people dress up in their favorite Mardi Gras attire! (See Mardi Gras photos here)

After the party/parade, I had no clue how I was going to attend the New Orleans concert that started at 2 in the morning. I thought to myself, who would schedule a concert so late? Clearly, I was the only one with that thought because it was hardly anymore seats available when I got to the show, not to mention I was there early!

The No Limit Soldiers including Mia X, Silk The Shocker and Mystikal performed their classic hits from the late 90s.  Mia X, started the show, followed by Silk the Shocker.   After his set, I was expecting to see Juvenile so I could have a reason to back that thang up, but he wasn’t there. However, Mannie Fresh played a few of his songs and then went into his own songs and before I knew it, I was dancing like I did when his music first came out!

When Mystikal hit the stage,  I lost a little bit of my mind. I think it was his apparel or his physique or his music- whatever it was, I was all in. He performed ‘Danger’, ‘Shake it fast’ and a host of other hits that had the Toulose Concert room on the ship rocking! By the time I got to my room I was tired, exhausted and confused because I realized we were still at sea. Where is Grand Turk already!

Stayed tuned tomorrow! I will attempt to snorkel, but I can’t swim. So y’all pray for me. In fact, where is Dr. Bobby Jones!
