Phi Beta Sigma was founded on January 9, 1914 by three African American students on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C. A. Langston Taylor, Leonard F. Morse, and Charles I. Brown wanted to form a Greek Letter Fraternity of inclusion and not exclusion when it comes to ideals of Brotherhood, Scholarship and Service.
