RICHMOND, VA. (KISS): 2013 Capital City Kwanzaa Festival is at a new location, The Hippodrome Theater, 528 North 2nd Street, Saturday, December 28, 1pm – 9pm at, presented by The Elegba Folklore Society, Inc. Richmond’s Cultural Ambassador. This year’s theme is “Remembering Mandela”.
The African Market Place opens at 1pm followed by Processional and Candle Lighting Ceremony at 2. Performances include African Drummers and dancers, Jarrard Anthony, Truth and Rights Reggae Band, there are workshops and historian & speaker Dr. Runoko Rashidi.
