Week 11 of the 2013 NFL season saw the last remaining undefeated team, the Kansas City Chiefs, finally go down after nine consecutive wins to open the season.  While no one expected the Chiefs to run the table, it was this Denver game that would gauge their validity as a “major” contender, and last night in the Mile High City, the Broncos showed up KC., This AFC West clash saw future Hall Of Fame QB Peyton Manning lead his team to a 27 – 17 victory and into a tie with the Chiefs for first place.  I said earlier this week that Kansas City would have to put at least 30 on the scoreboard to have a chance against the offensively powerful Broncos.

The Washington Washington Football Team had 10 weeks to replay, review, and re-plan for the Philadelphia Eagles, who had run off to a huge lead in Game 1 before the Washington Football Team could even get a grip on what the Eagles were doing.   Game 10 looked very similar to Game 1 as Philly took a commanding 24 – 0 lead into the second half and held on to defeat Washington in a game the Washington Football Team HAD to have to remain relevant in the NFC East, where they have yet to win a division contest.  The win put the Eagles back in the driver’s seat temporarily in the NFC East by a half game over Dallas, which had the weekend off.  Star QB Robert Griffin III still struggling with accuracy, and threw a game-ending interception with the game and the season on the line.  Griffin not looking like the superstar they have made him out tobe

The other problem facing the Washington Football Team is that the New York Giants have now crept slowly back into the picture after an 0 – 6 start, and have now moved into sole possession of third place while Washington is all alone in the NFC East cellar.  The G-Men beat the Aaron Rodgers-less Green Bay Packers come on Sunday, their 4th win, to move ahead of the Washington Football Team..  Another huge game was in New Orleans where the Saints have proved to be tough to beat.   The San Francisco 49ers came to the Big Easy needing a win badly but left on the short end of a 23 – 20 loss in the SuperDome.  In the AFC North, the Cincinnati Bengals knocked off their rivals, the Cleveland Browns, who were trailing Cincy by a game and a half going in, but a huge division win for the Bengals.

Pittsburgh showing no quit in the midst of a shaky season, at least by Steelers standards, and were these normal circumstances their home game against Detroit would have been a more intriguing game, but there is nothing normal about this Steelers’ season.  All the Lions could do Sunday was roar in the Steel City.  Another “must-see” game takes place tonight in Charlotte, NC, where the Carolina Panthers plan to make a name for themselves if they can pull out a win over Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.  Meanwhile, Richmond’s Russell Wilson appears to be the cream of that 2012 QB crop that included Andrew Luck and RG-3.  Wilson has led the Seattle Seahawks to a sparkling 10 – 1 record this season, including Sunday’s 41 – 20 rout of the Minnesota Vikings.
