Week 10 of the 2013 NFL season got underway on Thursday in Minneapolis as the 1 – 7 Minnesota Vikings took advantage of the short week and put a damper on the Washington Washington Football Team “run” to the Playoffs.   The Washington Football Team arrived with a sense of urgency and desperately needed the win, by any means necessary.  And they were operating under the belief that the San Diego game was the launching point for an incredible turnaround.  The Vikings were certainly not going to lie down as long as Adrian Peterson is their main weapon, and he did not disappoint as Minnesota ran away with a 34 – 27 victory.  Washington is in now in third place behind Dallas and Philadelphia in the NFC East, and ironically, Philly is the next opponent.   The front-running Cowboys have another tough test Sunday at New Orleans.

Speaking of the Eagles, Philly put on an offensive clinic on Sunday at Oakland, pounding the Raiders with 7 TD passes from QB Nick Foles, who is replacing the injured Michael Vick, and tying an NFL record.  Just when you thought those Birds were grounded, they were flying in Oak-Town, and now head to Green Bay, where there is NO Aaron Rodgers.  The Packers All-Pro QB is done with a brokencollarbone, a huge blow to the Pack’s playoff push.  On the other side of Pennsylvania, turmoil in Pittsburgh where Steeler fans are not used to seeing teams run up the score on a Pittsburgh defense.  Not even in a down season.  Baltimore is slipping as well.  How can we tell?   The Ravens NEVER lose to Cleveland.  Enough said.   And now, the Cincinnati Bemgals come to town to try and put the nail in the defending champs’ coffin.

In New York, the unpredictable Jets knocked-off the Saints, as Head Coach Rsex Ryan defeats his brother Rob, the New Orleans defensive coordinator.  One just never knows which Jets team will show up each week.  Don’t look now, but Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers continue to roll and look pretty scary at times as the QB matures with every outing.  The San Francisco 49ers were on the bye week and return to action with a new addition, WR Mario Manningham, the former Giant, who’s been on injured reserve since last season finally returns to the lineup.  A huge game on the West Coast as the Denver Broncos visit the San Diego Chargers.  Both teams chasing the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs, who are off this week.
