TORNADO JUNE 13 2013 STORY

Many areas of Virginia got hammered from a line of severe storms on Thursday.  The severe storms forced a ground stop at the Richmond International Airport. Tornado warnings filled the landscape from the mountains to the Virginia coast. Trees and powerlines created a huge mess, as well as, flooding. Countless secondary roads had little to zero visibility at the height of the storms.

Dominion Virginia Power crews have been working through the night to restore power to thousands of customers across Virginia. To report a power outage call 1-866-366-4357.

Dominion Virginia power is reporting that some 9,000 properties are still without power in Petersburg. For residents who need to charge devices such as cell phones and computers, please go to the Petersburg Station located at 100 West Washington Street. The Petersburg Station is open from 7am-7pm.
