Thanks Virginia for supporting the Salvation Army since 1885. The Salvation Army provides food, clothing, toys, gifts and more to thousands of recipients through the annual Christmas Assistance Program.

Participation in the Christmas Assistance Program is available to children ages birth-14 years old

Registration is through Friday, December 7, applications are being accepted 9 a.m to 4 p.m each day at the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club, 3701 R. Street in Richmond, and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. each day at the Salvation Army Tri-Cities Service Center, 1228 South West Street in Petersburg.

All applicants will be required to bring the following in order to register for Christmas Assistance:

-A photo I.D.

-Social Security cards for applicants and ALL children

-Birth certificate for ALL children

-If the child is not the applicant’s, the applicant will need to provide proof of guardianship (custody papers)

-Proof of expenses (rent/mortgage, cable and cell phone)

-Proof of income (recent paycheck stubs)

The Salvation Army will not register clients without this information and please note, children are not allowed at registration.
