Petersburg, Virginia Sheriff Vanessa Crawford is being  featured in a story published in the November issue of Oprah Winfrey’s popular “O” Magazine. Sheriff Crawford is a part of a story entitled “Politics Unusual” which focuses on elected officials who actually “get things done” in this era of partisan bickering and gridlock when it comes to serving those who elected them.

As a personal friend of the Sheriff, I can tell you she IS one of those officials who does get it done. She is the first African-American woman to hold the office of Sheriff in the city of Petersburg, and has held that position since 2005. She spent 23 years in the Virginia Department of Corrections, serving as Superintendent of two correctional facilities. KISS – FM congratulates Sheriff Vanessa Crawford on a job well done and we the citizens in the Petersburg community applaud this well-deserved article in “O” Magazine.
