“R&B Divas” star Monifah joined an impressive lineup of panelists on last night’s edition of BET’s news talk series “Don’t Sleep” hosted by T.J. Holmes to discuss topic of marriage equality for the LGBT community. As you know, platinum-selling recording artist Monifah is a member of the community who is actively pursuing same-sex marriage opportunities with her partner as shown on the hit TV One reality series.

Joined by Rev. Jesse Jackson, Sr. and Rev. A.R. Bernard (of New York’s Christian Cultural Center), the discussion evaluated the breakdown of whether or not same-sex marriage is considered a civil or moral rights concern for the African American community.
