Randy Jackson, who has been a judge on American Idol for the entire 11 seasons the show has existed is reportedly to follow the lead of Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler in exiting stage right. TMZ is reporting that Jackson and Idol are parting ways but Jackson says he will continue to serve as a mentor to the contestants on the show.
Mariah Carey has since joined the judging panel in the wake of the latest departures, and rumors are now swirling that hip-hop superstar Nicki Minaj may be in line to join American Idol for it’s 12th season. Jackson began with the show’s inception in 2002 along with Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul.
