Learn about your voter rights and responsibility at Miss Community’s Next Empowerment and Restoration of Rights Rally Wednesday, August 29, 2012, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Community Market 1915 Mechanicsville Turnpike, Richmond, VA 23223.

Virginia has an election every year which means the peoples’ voice should be heard on issues of healthcare, education, civil rights, justice, jobs and medicare. Every aspect of your life is decided on at the “stroke of a vote”.

Register to vote, check your voter status or candidates on the ballot for the general election, by visiting the State Board of Elections website at www.sbe.virginia.gov.

If you were convicted of a felony and would like to start the process of getting your rights restored get information here.  Please obtain copies of your sentencing orders and proof that you have paid all fines and restitution -then start the process.  For more information,  visit the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s website at www.commonwealth.virginia.gov

Also, at the rally on Wednesday, Miss Community will give away “last chance” Trey Songz concert tickets. Songz is performing live in Richmond Wednesday Night.  Tickets are FREE!

The grammy nominated Trey Songz will help register voters, sign up new volunteers in Virginia, and grow the largest grassroots campaign in history.Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. at The National, located at 708 E.
