After wearing out his welcome in three of the NFL’s biggest venues, San Francisco, Dallas, and Philly, Terrell Owens was out of football with seemingly no one interested in taking a chance on having to bring T. O.’s baggage into their locker rooms. Then, the Seattle Seahawks called and offered the former All-Pro receiver a tryout, which he passed and got a shot to make the team. The dream of returning to NFL stardom was short-lived however, as the Seahawks cut Owens Sunday.

Ironically, Richmond native Russell Wilson, a rookie who starred at Collegiate and finished his college career at Wisconsin, was just named the team’s starting QB for 2012, and many thought he would have T. O. as a potential target, but with rookie Malcolm Floyd and veteran Sidney Rice in the fold, Seattle had no extra room for T. O. After missing a full season last year at 39 years of age, the chances of Owens latching-on to another team is slim, unless an injury bug depletes a team’s receiving corps.
