Former NFL wide receiver Terrell Owens was granted a tryout with the Seattle Seahawks, who have taken a step no other teams around the league have been willing to take in bringing in Owens, who has been known to be a disruptive force in the locker room. During Owens’ career, he’s left a cloud of dust and controversy behind in San Francisco, Dallas, and Philadelphia. His last stint in the NFL was with the Buffalo Bills, a season in which Owens was “average”.

After finding no interest last season, Owens joined the Indoor Football League, and became part-owner of the Allen (Texas) Wranglers. However, it wasn’t long before the Owens we’ve come to know showed up, and the Wranglers not only kicked him off the team, but also renounced his ownership shares as well. At age 38, Owens remains in great shape, and is still considered a formidable receiver, but it’s the baggage that he brings which has caused even the NFL teams desperate for help at receiver to shy away.

T. O. worked out for the Seahawks on Monday, and apparently impressed the team’s personel enough to get a one-year deal.    He will join the team on the reactice field today and considering how long Owens has waited for another chance to play in the NFL, hopefully he has humbled himself enough to become a “team” guy.
