The Washington Redskins have seen enough. They know they have a keeper, and although they were a few days late in getting the contract language correct, the team has signed, sealed, and delivered their franchise quarterback of the future Robert Griffin, III. The Redskins signed Griffin, the No. 2 pick in this year’s NFL draft, to a four-year, $21 million deal, officially making ” R G – 3 ” the team’s leader.
Griffin had missed two days of practice with the Redskins rookies who are already in camp, while his agent and team officials worked out the contract details. He’s already participated in the team’s OTA’s this spring, and he’s been well received by his teammates and he had the Redskins fans at hello. Washington gave up three first round draft picks and one second round pick to make the deal with St. Louis to grab Griffin with the second selection, and the team feels confident he will be more than worth the investment.
How confident? So confident, that Redskins Coach Mike Shanahan has already said Griffin IS the team’s starting quarterback……..PERIOD! Training camp officially begins on July 26th, and that’s big deal for Redskins fans here in the 804 as Richmond is now the second home of the Washington Redskins during training camp for the next eight summers.
