President Barack Obama will kick-off a two-day tour in Virginia starting this Friday. The president will attend several grassroots events over the weekend. He will urge Congress to prevent tax increases on the 98% of families who earn under $250,000 a year. President Obama believes our economy grows from the middle out and not from the top down, which is why his plan extends tax cuts for the middle class and asks the wealthiest to pay their fair share.
President Obama will share his strong record of cutting taxes for the middle class -including having already cut taxes by $3,600 for a typical family earning $50,000.
Obama for America, National Campaign Manager Jim Messina said during our conversation that the “president will discuss his clear economic choice for middle class families in this election: between his vision for moving our country forward, ensuring an economy built to last and developing a strong economy build from the middle out, not top down, and Mitt Romney’s vision, which would take us back to the same failed economic policies that brought on the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression.”
