If you grew up in the 60’s or 70’s, then Andy Griffith was no stranger in your household. The Andy Griffith Show was one of television’s biggest hits in that era, and it wasn’t by accident because Andy Griffith was truly one of America’s finest actors. Sadly, NSN.com is reporting that the television icon has died at age 86.
Sheriff Andy Taylor had the gift of providing warmth and laughter on a TV show that always left you with a message or food for thought. With great co-stars like Don Knotts and Jim Nabors (Gomer Pyle), the folksy down-home setting of Mayberry was a town everyone visited on their TV sets weekly. Griffith went on to star in a huge series as “Matlock”, where Andy played the role of attorney Ben Matlock for almost 10 years.
