Movie Studio Lionsgate has put its planned “Dirty Dancing” remake on the backburner, according to Variety.
It was announced late last year that the classic film starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey would be getting the remake treatment under the guiding eye of Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” director Kenny Ortega. And despite not having a script or a star, the studio announced a July 26, 2013 release date.
However after film studio Lionsgate merged with Summit, this planned production has been put on indefinite hold.
I must admit, I’m not sitting the the disappointed seats on this one. Why mess with a classic? Plus, I don’t want to hear anyone other that Patrick Swayze say, “Nobody puts Baby in a corner.”
