Washington, DC and fans around the nation will say a final goodbye to the legendary Godfather of Go-Go music, Chuck Brown, on Thursday, May 31st at the Washington Convention Center, 801 Mount Vernon Place NW, in a public memorial service from 12 noon to 3pm.   There was also a public viewing of the remains on Tuesday at the Howard Theatre.

Brown, a musical pioneer, passed away on May 16th, since that time officials have been extremely busy trying to plan for what is expected to be a tremendous turnout of fans who truly loved Chuck Brown and the  music he created.    He represented Washington’s inner city in a way that most entertainers could only dream of, and his music is etched in the identity of that community.

The Brown family has asked that any offerings of kindness be made to the Chuck Brown Foundation, P. O. Box 4558, Silver Spring, Marland, 20914.   For more information on Chuck Brown’s mission with this charitable foundation, go to TheChuckBrownFoundation.com.   For those who may be traveling to DC from the Richmond area to pay respect to Chuck Brown, be advised there will be limited parking or access near the Washington Convention Center during these events.

We Love You Chuck! Rest In Peace Godfather……
