The NBA Playoffs ARE UNDERWAY, just 4 months after the lockout ended during the Christmas season, but not a positive start for the Chicago Bulls, who came into the playoffs as the Eastern Conference team to beat with the best record and home court advantage throughout the playoff season. When Derrick Rose went down on Saturday with a torn ACL, all of that success seemed to become meaningless.

The Bulls did get a victory over Philadelphia in Game 1 of their series, and certainly, Chicago is capable of beating the Sixers without Rose, but the road ahead will now be a lot more difficult to navigate. Oklahoma City got a great bounce on a wild one-handed shot by Kevin Durant to beat the Dallas Mavericks at the buzzer, the Los Angeles Lakers got strong inside play from Andrew Bynum to knock off the Denver Nuggets, and Tony Parker continues to dazzle as San Antonio rolled past Utah.

Atlanta and Orlando also won their playoff openers this weekend, but the most shocking loss was the one handed to Memphis after the Grizzlies held a 27-point lead in the 4th quarter and found themselves on the losing end to the LA Clippers. NBA Playoff action resumes tonight.
